Durham reaches 6,000 voices heard through Mind of My Own

A huge congratulations to Durham County Council on reaching 6,000 voices heard through Mind Of My Own.

This milestone reflects Durham’s ongoing commitment to helping children and young people share their views, feelings and experiences in a way that feels safe, accessible and supportive.

Every statement sent through Mind Of My Own represents a young person being given the opportunity to have their voice captured and shared with the people supporting them. For social workers and practitioners, this can provide valuable insight into what matters most to the children and young people they work with, helping to support better conversations, stronger relationships and more child-centred decision making.

Reaching 6,000 voices is a brilliant achievement and a clear reflection of the work being done across Durham children’s services to champion participation and make sure young people are heard.

A big thank you to everyone involved, including Lee Peacock and Laura Armstrong, for continuing to support and promote the voice of children and young people.
