We are absolutely delighted to tell you that Mind Of My Own has made it to the semi-finals of the Best British Tech Pioneer competition run each year by KPMG.
KPMG say that the purpose of the competition is to propel forward the game changers, the disruptors and tech titans of tomorrow.
In our heat in Manchester Mind Of My Own were one of the 16 tech companies pitching for a place in the semi-final. We had three minutes to tell the judges all about how Mind Of My Own apps help children, especially those that need it most, to have a voice and also how we understand the business side of what we do.
Keeping it Real
Those people who know us best will know we can talk for hours about the impact our apps have so getting that down to three minutes was a massive challenge! We know the importance of storytelling and although we have so many stories there is one that never fails to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up no matter how often I tell it. So our pitch included Sophie’s story.
After the big clock at the back told us our three minutes was over we faced questions from the judging panel which went so quickly. At the end of the event we found out that we hadn’t been selected as the two companies to go through to the semis but we know there was a chance we could be chosen as one of the ‘highly commended’ entries getting a pass through once all the heats were over so we crossed our fingers….and it happened!
Off to London
Mind Of My Own is going to London with the other fifteen companies to compete for a place in the final in Barcelona in February.
So now we are finalising our pitch once more, learning our lines and crossing our fingers that a female run tech for good company might make it to Barcelona amongst those other brilliant, change-making out of the ordinary companies. Watch this space!
