Last Friday, the Mind Of My Own team was called into a meeting for a special surprise from North Yorkshire which turned our day into something extraordinary, especially for those of us counting down the working days until Christmas.
After a brief intro from Principal Social worker Jo Miles, a heartwarming Christmas music video landed on our screens, featuring teams from across North Yorkshire’s children’s services decked out in tinsel and Christmas jumpers, belting out original lyrics by their Effective Practice and QA System Alignment Development Officer, Tom Pick.
‘If someone’s listening, you’ll never feel alone…and we’re listening cos you’ve got Mind Of My Own.’
The carefully crafted song centred around Mind Of My Own and was addressed to their young people, reminding them that North Yorkshire is always there to listen day and night. The joy it brought was infectious, and we found ourselves unable to wipe the smiles from our faces.
Three cheers for North Yorkshire!
And just when you thought it was over, Tom hit us with a punchy rap celebrating North Yorks’ many successes this year using Mind Of My Own apps. A huge congratulations to the whole team; clearly, your creativity is working wonders in embedding Mind Of My Own into your practice.
This musical gift is a testament to the strong bonds within our community. It’s a great reminder of the power of collaboration and the connections forged through shared experiences.
