Celebrating Ofsted Successes

2 min read

We would like to say a massive congratulations to all the members of our community who have had their hard work and dedication acknowledged this year, with some amazing improvements in their Ofsted results.

It’s such a pleasure to be working with so many fantastic organisations, that really put the young people in their care first, and we are proud to be a part of their journey!

This year, 37 Local Authorities underwent a full inspection. It’s encouraging to see a National improvement in the care provided, however for us here at Mind Of My Own we were thrilled that all of our partners who were inspected this year received a better grade.

In 2022:

100% of our customers improved their Ofsted rating (10 out of 10)
30% of our non-customers improved their Ofsted rating (8 out of 26)
23% of our non-customers Ofsted rating declined (6 out of 26)
51% of all Local Authorities improved their Ofsted rating (19 out of 37)

Obviously, Mind Of My Own is not all that is required to improve your Ofsted report. However, these numbers clearly show that when an organisation prioritises capturing and evidencing the voice of the child they will inevitably improve their Ofsted rating.

Without further ado, here’s a HUGE congratulations to the following authorities:

Authority Previous rating 2022 rating
Bedford Borough Requires Improvement Good
Coventry Requires Improvement Good
Durham Requires Improvement Good
Gloucestershire Inadequate Requires Improvement
Newcastle Requires Improvement Good
Newham Inadequate Good
Shropshire Requires Improvement Good
Stoke-on-Trent Inadequate Requires Improvement
Somerset Requires Improvement Good
Wakefield Inadequate Good

A special mention also for our partners who moved up two levels – Newham and Wakefield. Here are a couple of our favourite quotes from those reports:

Newham is developing a more permanent, stable and motivated workforce, who are passionate about improving children’s lives… Children and young people’s involvement in their care planning and their wider participation show they are also instrumental in changing practice and thinking. – Newham

Leaders have made steady and sustained progress to establish a sustainable, ambitious and child-focused service… Children are at the centre of all practice and are consistently being involved in decisions about their lives. – Wakefield
