What does young people's participation really mean? When we have heard the voice of the child, "So what?"

As the Year of Young People 2018 has drawn to a close it's good to remember that young people's voices have been at the heart of the Year, since planning started in 2015.

I have been reading recently that the ‘old’ ways of co-production and participation don’t work in the tech environment and they should be replaced with user centred design and design thinking. I have to disagree.
