Mind Of My Own has developed ‘SHOUT about your Care Experience’, a ground-breaking survey tool designed to capture the experiences of care-experienced young individuals as they transition out of care provision.

Mind Of My Own promotes early intervention. By helping children to speak up, Mind Of My Own promotes early intervention like this: The young person is enabled to share risk and resilience factors in their lives with someone they trust and have confidence in. This alerts the service to concerns, including potential abuse, much sooner so that practitioners can put early supports in place that promote and sustain children remaining safely within their families. Unnecessary placements can be averted and placement breakdowns avoided.

It used to be difficult to persuade decision-makers to invest in early intervention owing to a lack of evidence for its effectiveness. Frustratingly, most people knew intuitively that intervening in problems early, thereby preventing crises and emergencies, had to lead to better outcomes all round.

Since SHOUT's first sale in 2021, Mind Of My Own's service feedback tool has developed by leaps and bounds. February 2024 has hit the remarkable milestone that SHOUT has gathered the views of over 6000 responses from young people across the UK, Europe and New Zealand. A figure that is expected to double by the end of the year and grow exponentially year on year. Utilising Mind Of My Own's depth of knowledge of capturing the voice of the Child, SHOUT is increasingly seen by local authorities and youth organisations as the go-to choice for collecting large-scale feedback from young people.
