In the past those who worked in fostering services often felt that understanding the views of children was the job of the child’s social worker and that their role was purely to support, train and monitor the foster carer.

We know that when a young person goes missing they are at increased risk of experiencing harm. In fact one in ten children who go missing experience some form of harm while they are away.

The third new One app feature to be launched in 2019 is Return from Missing. Children and young people who go missing are generally at greater risk of poor outcomes.

Hundreds of looked after children supported by Action for Children are to be given access to unique app technology from Mind Of My Own which encourages them to share worries and concerns, directly with their social workers.
